About the Role
We’re looking for a New York based Events and Programming Manager to join our Events Team to lead and support the delivery of our events calendar across the US and Europe.
The Events team is responsible for delivering an exciting annual calendar of 30+ global events, which engage and inspire our members. Our programming aims to bring our community together, educate our members on important, timely topics, and inspire them such that they leave feeling differently about the world.
Managed by our Head of Events, you’ll be a key member of a four person team, responsible for delivering a range of events (from dinners, panels, experiential events) from start to finish considering both logistics (project management and sourcing suppliers like venues and caterers) and programming (identifying and securing high profile speakers and curating compelling discussions).
What You’ll Do
Delivery
- Leading on the delivery of eight to ten medium sized events mainly in NYC but could extend to San Francisco, Boston and other US cities and potentially London and other European cities. Formats include breakfasts, panels, intimate dinners, experiential formats larger networking events
- Leading on the delivery of 1-2 virtual webinars per year
- Supporting on the delivery of two flagship retreats per year including venue scoping, speaker suggestions and event administration
- Supporting on the delivery of Events led by other FP internal teams
Logistics
- Project management including maintaining relevant project plans, scheduling internal kick off, pre-brief and debrief meetings
- Sourcing and securing venues, caterers and suppliers, and managing these relationships effectively
- Creating event websites and repurposing templates for new events
- Integrating internal systems to ensure efficiency and automation including integrations between our registration platform, Salesforce and Slack
- Completing relevant event administration for events delivery in the UK and Europe, including guest list management, running reports, printing collateral, updating our events webpages, updating attendee lists post-event
- Processing invoices, managing budgets and reconciling costs ensuring expenses are paid in a timely manner and inline with our annual team budget
- Coordinating internal staff and external speaker travel
- Collecting and analyzing participant feedback to improve future offerings
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies
- Presenting event updates or wrap-ups during weekly All Staff meeting as required
- Working evenings and weekends as required for event delivery
- Travelling to events as required, including but not limited to Berlin, Munich, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm
Programming
- Identify and secure high profile, compelling speakers who will effectively engage our members
- Innovate and develop new and engaging event formats
- Craft clear and interesting programme descriptions and marketing copy for our events, specifically tailored to our membership and prospective members
- Workshop talking points and scripts with our speakers, using storytelling and other techniques to convey ideas in compelling and interesting ways
- Build strong relationships (or develop your existing relationships) with expert speakers and facilitators
- Collaborate across internal teams on member interests
- Work with internal presenters to ensure content is digestible, high-quality and compelling for our members
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and conscientious events professional with a passion for social impact. You’ll be excited to produce inspiring, seamless event experiences, to generate your own ideas and work collaboratively across the organisation.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:
- A strong interest in Founder’s Pledge’s mission and commitment to social impact generally
- Interest in global affairs and understanding of who the top voices are within topics including health and development, tech, philanthropy, climate and AI
- Experience independently delivering high quality events and experiences for audiences
- Experience working with and building relationships with a variety of stakeholders - internal staff and external contacts including our members, event suppliers and contractors
- A can do attitude and ability to think and problem solve on the spot
- A willingness to work from our New York City office (at 33 Irving Place) at least one day per week
- A passion for in-person and remote collaboration
- Experience independently identifying and liaising with speakers across a variety of thematic areas.
- Experience preparing high-quality, detailed preparatory materials for events, including internal organisational briefings, speaker briefings, event itineraries and talking points.

We ask applicants for this role to be based in New York. We’d like you to come to our office at 33 Irving Place a minimum of 1 day a week, and a willingness to travel locally, nationally and internationally is essential.
We usually bring the global team together once per year, and individual teams will meet to work together at least once annually!
